Our interdisciplinary research interest span across the topics of impact, entrepreneurship (education), innovation, translational science, and knowledge transfer. These interests are mirrored in various research projects based at the LMU IEC.
Impact Entrepreneurship Education
The "Impact Entrepreneurship Education" research project aims to discover and provide the most effective entrepreneurship education. It involves examining best practices and evaluating the impact of courses based on specific criteria. The project's objective is to develop a state-of-the-art Impact Entrepreneurship Education program that equips individuals with the necessary knowledge, mindset, and skills to succeed as Impact Entrepreneurs. The project objective is to understand and develop innovative education that fosters entrepreneurship for positive social and environmental change. Through rigorous evaluation, the project identifies key methodologies for successful Impact Entrepreneurship Education, empowering aspiring entrepreneurs to make a meaningful difference.
The “HolistiQ” research project studies knowledge transfer within German universities, analyzing its strategic and structural integration. It explores the multifaceted dimensions of knowledge, ideas, and technologies while investigating both the obstacles and success factors for effective knowledge transfer. Its objectives include categorizing universities based on their understanding of knowledge transfer. The project aims to identify drivers for a holistic understanding of knowledge transfer and to analyze mechanisms aligning central and decentralized transfer initiatives, including the integration of non-academic stakeholders. By pinpointing success factors for knowledge transfer and its integration, the project develops tailored strategic concepts matching each university’s self-image. The project includes interactive round-table dialogs to share ongoing findings and shape future steps. It will culminate in papers for both practice and academia, a qualitative self-evaluation tool for universities, and a final conference where key results and pathways for effective knowledge transfer will be presented. The project HolistiQ examines how the multifaceted nature of knowledge transfer is strategically and structurally anchored at German universities. In doing so, the project considers the various impact dimensions of knowledge, ideas, and technologies and examines obstacles and success factors for knowledge transfer at universities.
