Our Research

Our research at the LMU Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (IEC) focuses on Impact Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer. Through excellent research, we strive to find science-based solutions of societal challenges.

Our Research Focus

At the LMU IEC, we focus on impact entrepreneurship as a promising avenue for re-thinking business innovations as both environmentally and socially sustainable and financially viable. In the advent of multiple crises, classic entrepreneurship paradigms are no longer sufficient, and we need to unleash the proactive potential of entrepreneurial thinking for socially just and ecologically sustainable futures. In our research at the IEC, we see impact entrepreneurship as a new research field to tackle the grand challenges ahead.

Research Interests

Our interdisciplinary research interest spans across the topics of impact, entrepreneurship (education), innovation, translational science, and knowledge transfer. These interests are mirrored in various research projects based at the LMU IEC.
